About Mycophoria

I am certain that the LSD experience has helped me very much. I find myself with a heightened color perception and an appreciation of beauty almost destroyed by my years of depression… The sensation that the partition between “here” and “there” has become very thin is constantly with me. –Bill Wilson, founder of Alcoholics Anonymous

Myco – “relating to fungi”
Phoria – (ancient Greek) “to bear”

Hi! My name is Becca, and I am a certified drug and alcohol counselor who has been working in the behavioral health field since 2011, a busy mom of 2, an artist, and a certified psychedelic integration coach. Let me tell you a bit about how and why Mycophoria got started.

At one point, I was also an IV heroin user, blackout drinker, and extremely anxious and depressed throughout my teen and early adult years. Despite having an affinity for all things nature as a child, during adolescence I developed a pervasive feeling of loneliness, developmental trauma, disconnection and anxiety (both social and general) that severely affected me up until a few years ago. I went to a few rehab programs and continued to struggle with chronic self-hatred, anxiety, destructive habits, and an overall feeling of nihilism. I had glimpsed peace through meditation, prayed a lot to the Creator during my first year of 12-step based sobriety, but still felt empty and disconnected in many ways which lead to a cycle of negative habits. Some of them included seeking unhealthy codependent relationships, numbing with sedatives & alcohol, using shopping or social media as a distraction, and general avoidance of responsibility.

Another night I don’t remember.

It wasn’t until my first “heroic dose” and subsequent microdosing of psilocybin mushrooms that I experienced Universal Love, attuned to my higher self, and began the path to shed numerous unwanted mental and physical habits. I am a firm believer in the wisdom and healing power of mushrooms!

10 years later, after lots of soul-searching work!

I have also lost multiple people to overdoses and suicide, on top of seeing the pain of society daily at work. We are in desperate need of deep healing on a massive scale, as the country is experiencing record numbers of “deaths of despair.”

Psilocybin and other entheogens are an extremely promising solution to many people’s pain – physical, mental and spiritual. The mystical experience brought on by psychedelics consistently ranks in those interviewed as “one of the most meaningful life experiences.” Please view the organizations and research page to learn about ongoing clinical psychedelic research that is seeing rapid expansion and funding! By healing society and improving how we connect with each other, we can heal the Earth and create a promising future for the generations who are currently on track to inherit a wasteland. Join me in this movement to embody the wisdom of nature! You matter!
